After the fever goes down the joint pain lasts for months and months, sometimes years. Though not identified and analyzed by doctors, an allergic reaction to the virus continues in the body for more than one year. This result in itchy severe rash on hands and some times legs, an uncomfortable pain in joints sometimes that moves from place to place when treated. Severe constipation with a frequent urge to empty the bowels, unusual passing of air, headache above and behind the eye, pain in the ear, skin eruptions in the size of a coin, slight difficulty or tightness when passing urine which is diagnosed as mild calcification in the urine passage when tested and some times breathing difficulty with or without flem are also seen. Unfortunately when referred to the doctors the treatment is given to individual symptom rather than identifying the cause. Hence the symptoms disappear when treated and re emerges as another after few weeks compelling the patient to see different doctors one after the other. Hydrocloroquine, which is the only medicine that produces results but has to be taken with gaps in between the course and will gradually, bring down the said symptoms over a period of time. The inability of the western medicine to identify the indirect prolonged complications especially the serious allergic reaction and its real cause bewildered millions globally justifying the rumor that this new virus flue though identified as CHIKUNGUNYA is actually a man made virus.
