Hi

I had or still have Chikungunya... Last year during my travels through India, I picked the Virus through a Mosquitobite.

It has been over a year now and I am still suffering from several symptoms. When the virus was accute, I suffered from all the "normal" symptoms as of: Extreme Joint pains, headaches, a rash, fever and so on. After approx. 2 weeks I kind of recovered. During that time I also had other problems that I haven't read anywhere accept on your website. I suffered and still suffer from vision problems and heart rythm problems. I am extreme fatigue and there are days where I can't even get out of bed.

I have been to every specialist you can imagine! I live in Switzerland and I think that we really have one of the best health programms on earth. Yet every doctor I went to in Switzerland (after my travels) told me I am healthy and have a psychosomatic problem!
I really do understand why all these fantastic doctors say I am healthy after every examination... it's because they are unable to track anything on a scientific level.

What I want to say is... Allthough the tropical Institute in Basel (one of the best in the world) can tell, after examinating me, that I am now "cured" from Chikungunya there are still several symptoms that haven't gone away. TILL today! These symptoms as I told you before are vision problems and heart rythm problems with EXTREME fatigue.

I am writing this here, because (again) you are the only website talking about heart attacks (or heart problems) and vision problems. And this after 14 Months since I had Chikungunya in India.

I am writing this here, because I am hoping that other people who are suffering like me have the courage to write it down too. It has been very exhausting, going to about 10 specialists (that do cost a lot of money) and have always been told the same thing. "You are completely fine. Mr. von Arb! Go home and rest or go to a psychologist..." It is really not there fault, it's just our doctors in Europe do not have the experience with Chikungunya.

If you have experienced a similiar story, please do not hesitate and write back to me: eetobicoke@gmail.com.

Thank you for reading, I hope my story can help you.

Best regards karl

Hi all,
I the last 5 years i got 3 different types of Denque fever that means i still have 1 to look forward to as there is 4 different types of denque and for each type you get resistant for further infektions with exact that type of denque. The nr. 4 i still can get is the 1 that has the most deaths to follow. Last year i got CHIKUNGUNYA in Thailand chiang mai that is the most awefull kind of theese infections i have got, i was very close to die in Bangkok airport. I have been tested in a tropical infections department on hospital in Denmark where they take blood samples and grow the different viruses in to see what is wrong with you. There is not that much to do about it, you can learn to live with it and relieve the pain when nessesary. I use buflex and 600 mg 2 pills and 1 pill ponstan 250 mg. When really bad i can not walk or stand up for more that 5 minutes theese days i eat around 8000 - 10000 mg of painkillers. Sometimes i even smoke a joint to reliefe the pain. besides pills i use counterpain plus from the manufactor Bristol Myers and i use a brand called perskindol both as spray and gel. that helps to reliefe the pain when you need a break from the pills. At least it helps me a little bit. I hope this information can help other with same problem.
Remember craneberry juice can help to clean the kidneys wich is nessesary when you eat all theese pills

Hi,

I had Chikangunya in November and the after effects are still there. My ankles are swollen and it is painful to go down stairs.

Would request Varun if he could let me know where the viral is available.

Thanks and Regards,
